How do you teach young kids the wonders of physics? That old story about an apple hitting some guy on the head 300 years ago doesn't work well anymore. Teachers need something more attention-getting ... like black holes and supernova explosions.
In summer (July 20-23, 2003) NASA has sponsored a pair of teacher workshops where teachers could learn to bring these wonders of astronomy to their own classrooms. One workshop was held at the Wright Center for Science Education at Tufts University in Massachusetts, the other near the Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama.
